The Golden Gift Box is a beloved family Christmas tradition. A visual reminder of the gifts that we have received from Jesus. It is a set of visual cues to remind us of our Savior and why we celebrate His birth.
There was a small golden teapot to represent our blessings that are poured out, golden joy bells, and a dove of peace. There was also a light bulb to represent Jesus as the light of the world, a cross for our salvation, and broken chains to represent our broken chain of sins - which Jesus did on the cross. Because of His great love for us, He had to come to earth, take on flesh, live and die, to save us.
Every time I see that box, I am reminded that the greatest gift I receive at Christmas is Jesus and His gift of salvation. I hope that it points you there as well.
This book will have a “how-to” section so that you can create your own Golden Gift Box, along with Bible Verses for each of the suggested items. After that is a list of ways to use your Golden Gift Box, you will also find a link to printable cards for the verses, and a few suggested activities that are not specifically related to the Golden Gift Box. All of this is, of course, optional. In our family we have a rule, if we did something once and we liked it, it was a tradition. If we didn’t like it, well then that was just something we did once. You should feel that same freedom.
